Local Jirga Addresses Critical Water Supply Issues in Fatehpur

The Fatehpur community recently witnessed a significant gathering of local elders, elected councilors, and esteemed individuals in a Jirga meeting presided over by Mr. Mumtaz Hussain Sahib. The primary agenda of this gathering was the critical discussion surrounding the Water Supply Scheme from Myandam to Fatehpur.

Among the prominent attendees were cabinet members Mr. Hasan Khan and Mr. Javed Khan Mashigai, as well as respected elders from the village and the surrounding areas:

And other esteemed individuals from the village joined the discussion.


During the Jirga, participants reiterated their commitment to the Fatehpur water supply project, with a special emphasis on rescuing the aging steel pipe. The community pledged to ensure ongoing meetings and active community involvement to strengthen the local water supply system. As the village's population continues to grow, the potential for future water shortages looms large, prompting the Jirga to explore additional water supply sources.


Mr. Inam Khan proposed the establishment of a financial system to support water scheme maintenance and ensure the timely availability of water supply services.

Additionally, the Jirga identified a pressing issue regarding the current water supply infrastructure, which is poorly managed by the community and dedicated employees. The lack of oversight has led to unauthorized connections, resulting in significant water leakage. Addressing this issue was deemed a top priority by the Jirga.

Furthermore, the Jirga unanimously agreed to arrange meetings with relevant government officials from the Public Health Department and Assistant Commissioner Tehsils Khwazakhela to eliminate any ambiguities and obstacles hindering the water supply project.

The Jirga expressed its gratitude to Chairman Mr. Mumtaz Hussain Sahib and council members for their proactive approach in addressing this critical matter and involving the wisdom of the village elders.
